Songs am feeling at the moment

I've been in Naij now for a few weeks and am feeling some nice songs at the moment.

Asa - the girl sings like an angel and it definitely reflects she is not just a usual singer but a true musician.

Ty-bello - Mosa brings out the best in this girl, shes also someone y'all need to be listening to.

Midnight crew - I love one of the songs on their album, IGWE. Their producer is a very good guy, wole oni he is.

And sammy okposo's new album is da bomb as well, feeling a track called lift him high with some of motowns best basslines incorporated.

Thats it for now.

And yea, web design nigeria website is still getting good reviews more and more each day.

Designing Visually Appealing Websites for Low Bandwith Audiences

Web design can be fun for highly creative and telented graphics and web designers but what should you do when you have to limit your creativity to allow for decent loading of your site?In a few third world countries, internet connectivity is still very poor and web sites do not load fast at all! I have found myself developing sites for a number of clients in this region (Nigeria to be precise) and a major factor I had to consider in my designs is speed. A survey found out that the biggest single reason visitors do not stay on a site is that it takes too long to load.As a result, I have developed some techniques over the years that I employ in deploying super fast loading sites without compromising on aesthetics. These techniques are also employed on my website, web design nigeria

1. All jpeg images to be used must be compressed in photoshop or an equivalent software. In Adobe photoshop cs2 you can use the save for web feature and adjust the settings. Care must be taken not to compress images to a noticeable point. When compression has been used excessively, some artefacts begin to be noticeable and that messes up the whole aesthetic idea.

2. Never ever use primary colours. Always mix some gray or black with your colours to generate a cool tone. Since you cannot express too much graphics, you have to make up with your colours and they must be perfect. Also non gradient colours used should be replicated in html and not imported as jpgs.

3. Utilize a lot of straight lines and avoid curves. CSS should be used to draw the lines. The whole idea is to minimise the amount of jpgs you import into your web page. An expample of how to use CSS to draw lines is shown below:td style="border-left: 1px solid #88aa4c".This gives the left part of the table a 1pixel border. The strong point of CSS lines is that you get very crisp lines and they load very fast. Jpeg lines are usually anti-aliased and look very blurry when exported.

4. Any gradient backgrounds should be brought into html by making a thin slice of the gradient and tiling it as a table background. By using this method, just that one thin slice is loaded and then replicated to cover the rest of the table. Never export a massive area of a gradient. Just a thin slice is good enough.

In conclusion, the whole idea of this process is to make your site as clean and symmetrical as possible and most if not all graphics done in photoshop should be replicated in html to minimise load.

Web Gallery Nigeria - Nigeria’s first pixel advertising website.

There have been many attempts to develop a pixel based advertising system through out the world. The first of its kind tho, in Nigeria is called Web Gallery Nigeriawww.webgallerynigeria.com

The concept of pixel advertising is just very interesting and ingenious.

It is basically a one page website where the whole page is divided into equal square boxes where one box consists of 10 X 10 pixels i.e. 100 pixels in one box. One pixel is like a dot and is the smallest unit made up of a computer screen. A combination of millions of these dots make up the pictures we see on a screen, depending on how large the screen is.

The page of the web gallery is made up of 1million pixels and contains ten thousand of these small boxes, arranged side by side, horizontally and vertically till they fill up the whole page. It just boils down to basic arithmetic that:

If a box contains 100 pixels

10,000 of these boxes then fill up the page to contain 1,000,000 pixels

Now this is the part where it gets interesting. The web gallery is designed in such a way that each of these boxes can be purchased by anybody to house a little picture or logo that relates to that person or company. On clicking this box, it redirects the user to the website of that person who purchased the box. Also more than one box can be purchased say like 20 or 30 by one person and combined together to house a bigger or larger image that gives a stronger statement and impression, it all boils down to the budget.

By the time the whole page is filled up with various images, logos and pictures, it then becomes a very colourful and interesting artwork which is why it is coined the web gallery from my point of view. www.webgallerynigeria.com has been around for a while and a lot of people have bought into the idea and the page is getting gradually filled up. It is very interesting to watch the page grow day by day and see how the artwork becomes more complete and more beautiful.

Some serious analysis of Nigerian Music

Please check out this blog of Dolapo. It analyses Nigerian music and I find it very interesting and expository. It is a must read if you feel you feel there needs to be an improvement in standards in Nigerian presentations.
